HC Deb 11 August 1890 vol 348 c510
SIR RICHARD TEMPLE (Worcester, Evesham)

I beg to ask the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in the case of Mrs. Barker, widow of the late Consul Barker, regarding unlawful ejectment from the family house at Aleppo, he will cause a communication to be made to the Turkish Government on the subject, with a view to redress being afforded in the event of wrong being done, or to expedite the decision of the case by the Turkish Authorities?

SIR J. FERGUSSON

Her Majesty's Ambassador at Constantinople has for some time past had this case under his I notice, and has lost no opportunity of endeavouring to obtain a settlement. Inquiry will be made whether any denial of justice is taking place.
