I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury what is the total number of Writers now upon the Register; how many are in receipt of bonus under the Treasury Minute of December 21st, 1886; how many have accepted the gratuity and retired; how many are still eligible to compete for vacancies in the Second Division; how many were recommended for promotion to the Lower Division by the Heads of their Departments, under the Treasury Minute of 21st December, 1886; and how many were actually promoted?
