§ MR. SHAW LEFEVREI think it will be for the convenience of the House that I should state that there have been communications between the Government and the Dean of Westminster and myself with reference to the Westminster Abbey Bill and the overcrowded 988 state of Westminster Abbey, and that in all probability the Government will institute an independent inquiry into the subject. In these circumstances I shall not think it necessary to proceed with the Bill.
