§ *THE PRESIDENT OF THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT BOARD (Mr. RITCHIE,) Tower Hamlets, St. GeorgesI am very desirous of meeting the convenience of the County Authorities in this matter, and I hope to arrange that an instalment shall be paid in July, and a second instalment in October or November next, the two together making up an amount not much less than one-half of the sum which it is estimated that the authorities will be entitled to receive in the course of the year. A further instalment will be paid to the counties in February or March following, and the balance in May, when the precise amount collected from 980 licences and the Probate Duty Grant will have been ascertained.
