FERGUSSONsaid: Reports have been received of the advance of a considerable force of dervishes on Wady Haifa, and although such reports are always regarded with a certain amount of distrust, I believe that the Sirdar (Sir F. Grenfell) is about to go there himself. No British troops have been sent forward; but they are ready to go if required.
