HC Deb 22 July 1889 vol 338 cc975-6
MR. BEADLAUGH (Northampton)

I beg to ask the Secretary of State for War whether he can now inform the House of his decision as to the future rates of the commutation of pensions to non-commissioned officers and privates?

* THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR WAR (Mr. E. STANHOPE,) Lincolnshire, Horncastle

I am sorry that I cannot give the hon. Gentleman the information for which he asks. There has been some delay in the matter owing to our having to wait for a Treasury decision, which is, I believe, kept back for a Report from the Pensions Commutation Board. I regret the delay, and I will do my best to give an early answer to the question.
