HC Deb 01 July 1889 vol 337 c1141
MR. FRASER-MACINTOSH (Invernessshire)

I beg to ask the Lord Advocate whether complaints have reached him that Sir John William Powlett Campbell Orde, Baronet, the late proprietor of North Uist, has recently adopted steps tending to the virtual impossibility of the lobster fishery being pursued by the fishermen, whose means of livelihood are endangered thereby; and, whether, if full details are furnished, he will order inquiries to be made into the complaints of the fishermen with a view to their relief?

* THE LORD ADVOCATE (Mr. J. P. B. ROBERTSON, Bute)

I must ask the hon. Member to furnish me with more specific details on this matter. On receiving them I shall order inquiry to be made.
