PATRICK JOSEPH O'BRIEN (Tipperary, N.)I beg to ask the Secretary to the Treasury whether the salmon pass, erected by the Board of Works in the weir-wall on the Shannon at Killaloe, has been approved of by the Irish Fishery Inspectors; whether, before its erection, the Fisheries Inspectors were consulted as to the site of the pass; and whether instructions will be given to Sir Thomas F. Brady and Mr. Allan Hornsby, who are at present engaged in an inspection of the tributary rivers falling into Lough Derg, to inspect said salmon pass at Killaloe, and report to the Government as to its utility or otherwise, and if it has been put down in conformity with the Act of Parliament regulating such matters, and as to the cost of its erection?
