HC Deb 27 November 1888 vol 331 c302
MR. LANE (Cork Co., E.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is a fact that the boat-slip recently erected by the Irish Board of Works (at an expense to the public of £1,200), at Knockadoon, County Cork, has already been partly washed away; whether the attention of the Board of Works has been called to the present unsafe state of this structure; and, what steps the Board of Works propose to take to prevent the pier being completely washed away?

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. JACKSON)(who replied) (Leeds, N.)

said, this pier was constructed about three years ago, and the County Authority was responsible for keeping it in repair. However, one of the Engineers of the Board of Works was on a tour of inspection, and would examine and report on its present condition.
