HC Deb 20 November 1888 vol 330 c1667
MR. HOWELL (Bethnal Green, N.E.)

rose to make a personal explanation with regard to the use of the term "battleworthiness" of ships of war, which the noble Lord (Lord George Hamilton) had challenged. He wished to refer to the report of the Question 2,987, which was—"Do you consider yourself responsible for the battleworthiness of the ship?"

MR. SPEAKER

Order, order! The hon. Member is rather exceeding the limits of a personal explanation. The good faith of the hon. Member has not been attacked.

MR. HOWELL

said, he had received a letter from the First Lord of the Admiralty asking him to bring the matter before the House.

MR. SPEAKER

If the hon. Member thinks he is misrepresented, he is at liberty to bring the matter before the House.
