HC Deb 11 June 1888 vol 326 cc1695-6
MR. M'LAGAN (Linlithgow)

asked the Postmaster General, If he is now prepared to state whether he has made, or is about to make, any arrangements by which some, at any rate, of the facilities hitherto afforded by the 6 a.m. train from Edinburgh and Glasgow to the South may be restored?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

In reply to the hon. Member, I beg to state that I have not yet seen my way to make any arrangements for restoring the early morning despatch from Edinburgh and Glasgow to the South; but the matter shall not be lost sight of. I understand that there is a question of the Irish post, which is of some importance, and which has not been put before me until very recently; and I am examining that part of the question with the special view of seeing what can be done.
