HC Deb 12 July 1888 vol 328 c1096
MR. M'CARTAN (Down, S.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether he is aware that the Chennes Agricultural Society, of Ulster, for the last 43 years, has been voluntarily rendering important services to the agricultural classes of Ireland; and, whether the Government will take this Society into consideration, when allotting moneys towards agricultural education?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

I have no information other than that supplied me by the hon. Member in regard to the first paragraph. As regards the second paragraph, the Government have no proposals at present to make of the kind suggested by the hon. Member.
