HC Deb 23 February 1888 vol 322 c1248
MR. E. ROBERTSON (Dundee)

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, When he will lay the Fisheries Treaty upon the Table.

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JAMES FERGUSSON) (Manchester, N.E.)

As soon as possible after it has been received.

MR. E. ROBERTSON

asked, whether the contents of the Treaty had not been communicated by telegraph?

SIR JAMES FERGUSSON

Yes, they have reached this country by telegraph; but it is manifest that we could not lay a despatch on the Table which we only know by telegraph.
