HC Deb 10 December 1888 vol 331 cc1605-6
SIR EDWARD J. REED (Cardiff)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he will consent to the presentation to the House of Commons of a Return showing what persons have been admitted to the Public Service, for employment in either of the Departments of the State in London, during the last five years, under circumstances which will entitle them to additional amounts of pension hereafter on account of the special qualifications which they possess for the duties entrusted to them, such Return to state their present salaries, and the extent of their claims to additional pensions?

THE FIRST LORD (Mr. W. H SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

The list of the Offices for which a special addition is made in calculating pensions in respect of professional qualifications is given in the Appendix of the Second Report of the Royal Commission on Civil Establishments, and the Govern- ment cannot undertake to furnish any further information.
