HC Deb 07 December 1888 vol 331 cc1486-7

Order for Adjourned Debate on Second Reading [10th August] read.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Order be deferred till Monday."

MR. T. M. HEALY (Longford, N.)

said, that the Bill would in all probability lead to a prolonged debate, and therefore he respectfully asked the Government whether, having regard to the period of the year, they would not move to discharge the Order?

THE SECRETARY TO THE TREASURY (Mr. JACKSON) (Leeds, N.)

said, he was not in a position to make such a Motion. The Bill was brought in at the distinct request of the Public Accounts Committee, and it was advisable to pass it this Session if possible.

MR. T. M. HEALY

gave Notice that on Monday he would ask the First Lord of the Treasury whether he was not prepared to discharge the Order?

Question put, and agreed to.

Debate further adjourned till Monday next.
