JAMES STUART (Shoreditch, Hoxton)asked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether he will lay upon the Table of the House, Copies of the Correspondence which has taken place during the past 12 months between the India Office and the Government of India, with respect to the Repeal of the Contagious Diseases Acts; and Copies of the documents on the subject transmitted to the India Office in connection with that Correspondence?
§ THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JOHN GORST) (Chatham)The despatch recently received from the Government of India on the subject of the Contagious Diseases Acts is now under the consideration of the Secretary of State in Council. As soon as that consideration is complete the despatch will be laid upon the Table, with other Papers upon the subject.
