ESSLEMONT (Aberdeen, E.)asked the Lord Advocate, in view of Local Government for Scotland, If he will lay a Return upon the Table of the House showing the amounts paid for existing licences and taxation in each county; the Treasury grants now paid to each county; the proportion of the Probate Duty which it is estimated each county would receive on the basis of its indoor pauperism; the estimated amount 163 of expenditure for main roads in each county; and the general county expenditure to which the whole county contributes?

But as the Secretary for Scotland is having some statistics prepared bearing on the question, perhaps the hon. Member would wait for a short time till it can be ascertained on what other points information is desired so as to include all that is required in one Return.
