HC Deb 20 April 1888 vol 325 c9
MR. BRADLAUGH (Northampton)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether political notices and advertisements of a Party character are affixed on the walls and exhibited in the windows of the Cowes Post Office; and, whether this is in accordance with the Post Office Regulations?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

It can hardly, I think, be said that notices of a strictly political Party character have appeared at the Post Office at Cowes. But I conceive that the hon. Member refers to an advertisement of a Primrose League concert, which, I am informed, has lately appeared there. I have directed the Postmaster to be informed that I think such notices should not appear in the post office windows.
