MR. SPEAKER acquainted the House that he had received the following letter relating to the Imprisonment of a Member of this House:—

Macroom, Co. Cork, Ireland,

31st March, 1888.

Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that Mr. J. Gilhooly, M.P., has been sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment without H.L., commencing on the 30th March, 1888, under the Prevention of Crime Act, 1871, 31 & 35 Vict. chap. 112, sect. 12, for an assault committed on a County Inspector, Royal Irish Constabulary.
