HC Deb 09 September 1887 vol 321 c6
MR. GILHOOLY (Cork, W.)

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, Whether the preliminaries for the erection of a Coast Guard Station on Bere Island have been completed; and, if so, when the building of same will commence?

THE FIEST LORD (Lord GEORGE HAMILTON) (Middlesex, Ealing)

Negotiations were commenced some time ago with a view to removing the existing Coast Guard Station on Bere Island to a more convenient position; but terms satisfactory to the Admiralty have not yet been arranged, consequently no provision for building a new station has been included in the Estimates.
