§ MR. PICKERSGILL (Bethnal Green, S. W.)asked the President of the Local Government Board, Why the Returns of Comparative Expenditure at the Metropolitan Pauper Schools, which up to 1882 were included in the Annual Reports of the Board, have, since that year, been discontinued; and, whether he will undertake to include these useful Returns in future Annual Reports?
§ THE PRESIDENT (Mr. RITCHIE) (Tower Hamlets, St. George's)The publication of these statements in the Annual Reports of the Board was discontinued with the view of diminishing the bulk of the Reports. The Board, however, furnish copies of the statements for every Manager and Guardian in the Metropolis, and are always willing, on application, to furnish a copy to anyone interested in the subject. If, however, there is any general desire that a comparative statement of the expenditure in respect of the schools in the Metropolis should in future appear in the Reports I will arrange for this.
