HC Deb 31 January 1887 vol 310 c271
DR. CLARK (Caithness)

asked the Secretary for Scotland, If it is true, as stated by The Scottish Highlander, that Sheriff Ivory had been reprimanded for the action he took in regard to the control of the police during the late expedition to Skye; and, if he will lay a Copy of the official Correspondence on this matter upon the Table of the House?

THE SECRETARY FOR SCOTLAND (Mr. A. J. BALFOUR) (Manchester, E.)

It is not usual, and would not be to the advantage of the Public Service, to lay the Correspondence referred to on the Table of the House. It is not accurate to say that Sheriff Ivory has been reprimanded.
