HC Deb 22 February 1887 vol 311 c302
MR. T. W. RUSSELL (Tyrone, S.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether the reports in the newspapers are accurate, that a man named Murphy was murdered near Killarney on Sunday afternoon last; and, whether he had purchased, under the provisions of the Land Act, the tenant-right of a neighbour's farm?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH) (Bristol, W.)

Yes, Sir; it is true that the murder in question was committed. I cannot answer the second Question.
