MR. ATHERLEY-JONES (Durham, N. W.)

asked the President of the Board of Trade, Whether it is purposed that an official inquiry should be held into the circumstances attending the loss of the S.S. Kapunda, on her passage to I Western Australia; and, if so, within what period it may be expected that such inquiry will be commenced?

THE SECRETARY (Baron HENRY DE WORMS) (Liverpool, East Toxteth)

(who replied) said: An inquiry has been ordered into the circumstances attending the loss of the Kapunda, and will be held as soon as the survivors and the crew of the vessel with which she was in collision have arrived in this country.
