HC Deb 19 August 1887 vol 319 c1099
MR. EVELYN (Deptford)

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether, in view of the recent release of Zebehr Pasha Her Majesty's Government would be disposed to urge on the Egyptian Government the advisability of granting to Arabi Pasha and other Egyptian exiles a general amnesty for political offences?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JAMES FERGUSSON) (Manchester, N.E.)

I cannot hold out any hope that Her Majesty's Government will advise this step.
