HC Deb 01 August 1887 vol 318 c717
MR. JAMES STUART (Shoreditch, Hoxton)

asked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether he can yet make any statement as to the intentions of Her Majesty's Government with respect to the repeal of the Indian Contagious Diseases Act, and of the Regulations for the same object under the Cantonment Acts?

THE UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE (Sir JOHN GORST) (Chatham)

The Secretary of State has called the attention of the Government of India to both subjects, and is expecting a despatch from India in reply. Until this is received, it is impossible to make any definite statement.
