HC Deb 29 April 1887 vol 314 c357
MR. BROADHURST (Nottingham, W.)

asked the First Lord of the Treasury, Whether he can state to the House when he intends to proceed with the remainder of the Rules of Procedure, or, if he cannot see his way to deal with the whole of them, whether he will press forward the one dealing with the rearrangement of the hours of mooting and rising of the House?

THE MUST LORD (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

In the present state of Public Business it is impossible for me to state when the House may resume the consideration of the Rules of Procedure; but with regard to the particular Rule to which the hon. Member refers, I can only say that if it is the general wish of the House that the discussion of the Rule should be taken at a late hour in the evening, and without involving any prolonged debate, I would endeavour to meet the wish of the House, and it would give me great pleasure to do so.
