HC Deb 01 April 1887 vol 313 cc214-5
MR. BIGGAR (Cavan, W.)

asked the Postmaster General, Whether it is true that an offer was made by F. J. Tully, of Drumcam, Ballyhaise, County Cavan, to guarantee the Department against loss if a rural delivery were extended to Keelagh National School from Ballyhaise and Ardamagh; and, whether, if the facts are as alleged, he will give the extension a three months' trial?

THE POSTMASTER GENERAL (Mr. RAIKES) (Cambridge University)

I cannot find that an offer has been received from Mr. Tully to guarantee the pay- ment of any loss involved in the proposed extension of post to Keelagh National School. But as the deficiency of revenue is trifling, I have given directions for the extension to be made without calling for a guarantee.
