HC Deb 20 September 1886 vol 309 c981
MR. KENYON (Denbigh, &c.)

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether the Government are willing to consider the present Law with respect to the incidence of tithes, with a view to removing the liability from the occupiers to the owners, upon terms just to the payer and receiver?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Lord RANDOLPH CHURCHILL) (Paddington, S.)

Her Majesty's Government are fully sensible of the great gravity of the question alluded to by the hon. Member; and they will give their attention to the subject in the hope of next Session being enabled to introduce legislative changes in the direction indicated by the hon. Member.
