HC Deb 20 September 1886 vol 309 c965
MR. DIXON-HARTLAND (Middlesex, Uxbridge)

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the Queen's Regulations in respect of seniority of rank are suspended in the case of Militia Officers "attached for duty to the Regulars;" and, if not, whether he will cause an inquiry to be made whether these Regulations are strictly complied with in every respect?

THE SECRETARY OF STATE (Mr. W. H. SMITH) (Strand, Westminster)

The Queen's Regulations in respect to seniority of rank are not suspended in the case of Militia officers attached for duty to the Regular Army; and there is, therefore, no reason for supposing that they are not observed.
