asked the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether the Railway to Quetta is now open for traffic; and, what is the condition of the Railway in the direction of Candahar?

The Railway through the Bolan Pass reached Quetta on the 26th of July last. That by the Harnai route is still under construction. Preliminary surveys have been made beyond Quetta in the direction of Candahar.
