Member gave me Notice of his Question I consulted the Chief Inspector of Factories, who informs me that he is not aware that the provisions of the Truck Acts are habitually infringed in various mines and works in Scotland. He will, however, be in Glasgow next week, and I have directed him to make inquiries as to the specific infringements of the Acts as to which the hon. Member has been good enough to give me private information.
