HC Deb 08 March 1886 vol 303 cc110-1
MR. CARVELL WILLIAMS (Nottingham, S.)

asked the Vice President of the Committee of Council, Whether the Charity Commissioners have completed the inquiry into the nature, tenure, and value of the parochial charities of the City of London, which they were required to make by the Act passed in 1883; and, if not, when such inquiry is likely to be completed, and the findings and determinations at which the Commissioners have arrived in relation thereto, to be made public, as required by that Act?

THE VICE PRESIDENT (Sir LYON PLAYFAIR) (Leeds, S.)

The Charity Commissioners have practically completed the inquiry into the whole of the Charities of the City of London included in the Schedule of the Act, 1883. The results of the inquiry have been tabulated, and will form the basis of the Schedules which they are required by the Act to publish; but some time will necessarily elapse before the publication can be completed.
