HC Deb 07 June 1886 vol 306 c1126
MR. H. CAMPBELL (Fermanagh, S.)

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether the Lisnaskea Board of Guardians, on 6th June 1885, passed a Resolution recommending the appointment of Francis Bogue, of Grogey, as a magistrate for the county Fermanagh; if copies of this Resolution have been forwarded to the Lord Lieutenant of the County and the Lord Chancellor; and, whether it is the intention of the Lord Chancellor to appoint Mr. Bogue?

THE CHIEF SECRETARY (Mr. JOHN MORLEY) (Newcastle-on-Tyne)

, in reply, said, the resolution referred to was forwarded to the Lord Chancellor in Juno last, and in consequence of the change of Government then pending the matter was not disposed of. The attention of the late Lord Chancellor was called to the matter, and on consultation with the Lord Lieutenant of the county the latter refused to recommend Mr. Bogue to the Commission, and he was not appointed. The present Lord Chancellor saw no reason to differ from that conclusion.
