asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, When he will institute the inquiry recently promised into the subject of the contributions to the County Rate now paid by towns having separate Quarter Sessions?

(who replied) said: The question as to the best method of instituting this inquiry is at the present moment engaging the attention of the Secretary of State. He hopes in a short time to be able to make some definite arrangement.
