HC Deb 20 August 1886 vol 308 c160
MR. W.BECKETT (Notts, Bassetlaw)

asked the First Commissioner of Works, If, before the meeting of Parliament next year, he will provide such suitable protection from the weather for Members alighting at or departing from the House, as well as for both public and private vehicles in waiting in Palace Yard, as is provided at all principal railway stations?

THE FIRST COMMISSIONER (Mr. PLUNKET) (Dublin University)

I shall do what I can to provide protection from the weather for Members alighting at or departing from the House; but I fear that it will be very difficult to devise any shelter for public or private vehicles which would not seriously disfigure the Court Yard.
