HC Deb 10 March 1885 vol 295 c622
CAPTAIN AYLMER

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether provision has been made for a supply of coloured glass spectacles for use of our troops in the Soudan?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

Sun spectacles have been provided for all troops sent either to Suakin or to the Nile; 27,000 pairs have been sent to Egypt from August, 1884, to February, 1885. Reserves of 3,000 pairs are now being sent out for Suakin and Egypt respectively.
