HC Deb 05 March 1885 vol 295 c132
SIR FREDERICK MILNER

I wish to ask your ruling, Sir, upon a point of Order arising out of an answer given by the hon. and learned Gentleman the Attorney General. The point is, Whether a Member of the House is not, by the understood Rules of the House, compelled to withdraw any statement made in the House, when that statement has been proved in a Court of Justice to be a scandalous and malicious libel?

MR. SPEAKER

No case has arisen on the faots stated by the hon. Baronet for any interference of the Chair.
