HC Deb 05 March 1885 vol 295 cc124-5
SIR H. DRUMMOND WOLFE

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, Whether it is intended to give to the executive Chief Petty Officers of the Royal Navy a pension based on the rank they hold, their present pension being that of a rank one grade lower in the service?

SIR THOMAS BRASSEY

The chief petty officers are a most valuable class; but the Admiralty do not feel justified in increasing the present scale of pension.
