HC Deb 03 March 1885 vol 294 c1906
MR. HEALY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Do the Government hope, this Session, to propose any legislation regarding the Queen's Colleges?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

Until the Government have had time to consider the Report of the Commission, which has only just been received, it is impossible to say whether or not they will propose any legislation regarding the Queen's Colleges in this Session.

MR. HEALY

Yesterday, in his answer, the right hon. Gentleman said that the Government could not do anything for Professor D'Arcy Thompson, of the Galway Queen's College, because legislation was intended. Now we find on this question that legislation was not intended.
