HC Deb 23 February 1885 vol 294 c1021
MR. JUSTIN M'CARTHY

asked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether the Government intend to give any facilities for the resumption of the Debate on the Motion for the Second Heading of the Irish National School Teachers' Bill, which Debate was adjourned on the Motion of the Chief Secretary himself?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

It is the intention of the Government shortly to introduce a measure dealing with several questions connected with education in Ireland; and I would, therefore, express a hope that the hon. Member will defer proceeding further with the Bill he alludes to until the proposals of the Government are before the House.
