HC Deb 30 April 1885 vol 297 cc1120-1
MR. BRODRICK

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether it is his intention to include, in the financial proposals of the year, any charge for the cost of the Registration of Voters in Ireland, in accordance with the vote given in a Committee of the whole House on Friday last; and, whether such charge will also provide for the cost of the Registration of Voters in Great Britain?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. CHILDERS)

In reply to my hon. Friend, I have to say that it would be altogether premature that I should state now what course we propose to take in consequence of the division in the Committee on the Irish Registration Bill. We proceed with the Committee to-morrow.
