HC Deb 24 November 1884 vol 294 c273
MR. GOURLEY

asked the Secretary to the Admiralty, If the defects in the steering accuracy of the Ajax and Agamemnon have been rectified; if not, what measures the Admiralty intend adopting for this purpose?

SIR THOMAS BRASSEY

The Agamemnon made the passage from Portsmouth to Plymouth, and is now on her way to Malta, from which port we shall learn the results of further experience of the steering qualities.

SIR JOHN HAY

asked whether it was true that the speed of the Agamemnon did not exceed nine knots an hour?

SIR THOMAS BRASSEY

I do not know.
