MONTAGUE GUESTasked the Vice President of the Committee of Council, Whether, having regard to the 1827 fact that the scheme proposed by the Charity Commissioners in relation to the Milton Abbas Grammar School at Blandford has been strongly objected to by the inhabitants as well as by the corporation of that town, and moreover that petitions have already been presented to both Houses of Parliament, and that more are in course of preparation against the proposed scheme, it is the intention of the Charity Commissioners to direct an Assistant Commissioner to hold an inquiry respecting the subject matter of the scheme; and, whether they have ignored the objections made by the locality interested in the school, and have submitted the scheme as settled by them to the Education Department?
§ MR. MUNDELLA, in reply, said, that the scheme relating to Milton Abbas Grammar School at Blandford had not yet reached the Education Department, and the Commissioners informed him that they were now considering the representations made to them by the local authorities. They added that no application had been made to them for any further inquiry.
