BIGGARasked the Chief Secretary to the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, Whether it is a fact that Mr. Thomas Cummings, clerk to Manorhamilton Union, entered into a contract for the making of a sewer on the property of a Mr. Miller without the authority of the guardians; and, if so, will the Local Government Board take care that the clerk be made personally liable, and not the ratepayers of the electoral division of Drumkeeran?
§ MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMANThe Clerk of the Union reports that he 1558 did not enter into a contract for the making of the sewer referred to. The work was carried out by a Committee of the Guardians, the Sanitary sub-officer acting under them.
