HC Deb 26 May 1884 vol 288 c1309
SIR HERBERT MAXWELL

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether the new barracks at Inverness, which have been in construction for two years, have no system of drainage provided, and are consequently not available for occupation?

THE MARQUESS OF HARTINGTON

The difficulty in regard to the drainage of the regimental depôt barracks at Inverness has been to find an outfall which should not be open to objection from the neighbouring proprietors. Negotiations are now in progress, and it is hoped that the difficulty will soon be surmounted.
