HC Deb 20 May 1884 vol 288 cc843-4
MR. O'BRIEN

asked the Postmaster General, Whether any steps have yet been taken to carry out his promise, made on the 11th of March last, that sorters employed in the travelling Post Offices in Ireland should be placed on an equal footing with those employed in England with regard to excess payments for duty done on Sundays?

MR. FAWCETT

In reply to the hon. Member, I have to state that steps have been taken in the direction indicated; but the matter is one which it is a little difficult to adjust to the varying circumstances. I can assure him, however, that there shall be no delay that can possibly be avoided.
