HC Deb 19 May 1884 vol 288 c654
MR. BUCHANAN

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, What steps the Government proposes to take this Session with a view to carrying out the recommendations of the Reformatories and Industrial Schools Commission?

SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT

, in reply, said, his hon. Friend was aware that there were a great number of recommendations in this Report—some of which would require legislation and others not. With regard to legislation on the subject, he was afraid that at this period of the Session it was past praying for; but what could be done administratively in the matter would be carefully considered now.
