HC Deb 29 February 1884 vol 285 cc219-20
MR. MONK

asked the Postmaster General, Whether Her Majesty's Government will enter into negotiations with the Austro-Hungarian Government, with a view to the establishment of a system of Post Office Orders or of Postal Orders for the transmission of small sums between this Country and Austria?

MR. FAWCETT

Sir, in reply to my hon. Friend, I may say that negotiations are already in progress with the Post Office of Austria-Hungary for the establishment of the money-order system between this country and Austria-Hungary, and I hope to be able soon to conclude a convention for that purpose.
