MR. MAC IVER

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, If the Papers recently issued with regard to the commercial arrangements with Spain that are referred to in the Queen's Speech, and which contain no reference to any endeavours to procure equal treatment for British ships, are a complete statement of the present position of the negotiations?

Further Correspondence is about to be laid on the Table.

said, he wished also to know whether it was the intention of the Government to take steps for procuring the equal treatment in Spanish ports of British vessels?

LORD EDMOND FITZMAURICE

replied, that that was not the Question of which the hon. Member had given No- tice. The Correspondence he had referred to would be laid on the Table in the course of two or three weeks.

MR. MACIVER

said, that he should put down all the Questions he had asked on next Thursday's Paper, and he trusted he would then obtain a satisfactory reply.
